SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE AND WEIGHT GAIN:

MachinesTechnology Has Made Life Easy.

Sedentary lifestyles are the gift of the modern world and are becoming increasingly common in today’s modern society. With the rise of technology and automation, many people spend most of their time sitting at desks, in front of screens, or lying on their beds, engaged on social media. They consumed most of their time sitting, either in offices, homes, or cars. Unfortunately, this sedentary lifestyle and weight gain are sisters of each other. This can lead to  a host of other health issues.

     Why Do We Gain Weight?

One of the main ways that a sedentary lifestyle leads to weight gain is by reducing the number of calories burned. When you are not active, your body burns fewer calories, which can lead to an imbalance between the number of calories consumed and the number of calories burned. It means that people living in modern cities take in more calories but burn less. This can probably lead to an increase in body fat and weight gain over time.

Why Do We Eat Junk Food?

Another way that a sedentary lifestyle can contribute to weight gain is by promoting unhealthy eating habits. When you are sitting for long periods of time, you may be more likely to snack on unhealthy foods or consume larger portion sizes. It has been studied that people eat more when they are inactive. The human body demands more sweets and salty spicy foods containing refined sugar and flour, as well as salt and oil, as they quickly absorb into our blood and boost up our sugar level.  Additionally, being sedentary can also lead to stress and emotional eating, which can contribute to weight gain.

Why Do Our Metabolism Get Slow?

Finally, there are also physiological factors that can contribute to weight gain. when you lead a sedentary lifestyle. For example, when you are not active, your body's metabolism may slow down, making it more difficult to burn calories and maintain a healthy weight. So we gain weight.

How Can We Handle These Negative Effects?

To combat the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle on weight gain, it is important to engage in regular physical activity and limit sedentary behaviors. Today, almost all of our activities are restricted to standing, sitting at a desk, or both.  People don’t sit crooked on the floor during their working or active time and then stand up. This is the activity that burns the most calories. By making small changes in our working posture or environment, a person can help prevent weight gain and improve his overall health and well-being. Add apple cider vinegar in your food as well as green tea.

Remember: Always Listen to Your Body!

When you change your routine, notice how your body react. For example, once in a cold winter night I was shivering while driving my bike and when I reached my house, I found my wallet missing. I drove back in search of my wallet and I still know all my shivering vanished. A sudden and abrupt change in life activity bring different responses in your mind and body. So if you do something quite and absolute different in your daily routine twice a week, you can control your obesity.
